New Knowledge Base Articles
This past month, we've added the following new articles to our knowledge base:
How do I run a User Actions History Report– User Action History reports allow a user to have a report that specifically highlights what activities they have interacted with, within a given time frame. Great for tracking your previously completed activities.
How do I used the Linked Documents Tab – The linked Documents Tab was introduced with Release 16. A great way to see documents from linked activities without leaving your activity page.
How Do I see if a file is externally visible? - If you need to see if a file can be seen by external users, or if you want to change a file to be visible or not, this KBA provides images and instructions.
Managing PDFS for MiEHDWIS - This KBA covers the basics of merging, extracting and inserting PDF documents using Power PDF Advanced, Adobe Pro, and PDFSAM Basic.
Internal User Index of Terms – Need a crash course in MiEHDWIS Terms and common abbreviations? The Internal User Index of Terms is a collection of terms to help.
Water Hauler – How to Complete a Truck/Trailer/Container Inspection – Water Haulers were onboarded in Release 16. This KBA helps internal users complete inspections for trucks, trailers and containers.
Expect a fresh batch of KBA’s in the February Update after Release 17 is live.
UPDATED Knowledge Base Articles
Many of these knowledge base articles have been updated due to a new release feature. Additionally, we are working to make more training videos for our KBA’s.
How do I link Activities together – During R16, a new relationship “Related” was introduced to connect activities. This KBA was updated with new information and images regarding that change.
How Do I use the PDF Review Functionality – This updated KBA covers the basic of using PDF Review. There is a greater explanation on notations that can be made on documents.
CWS File Types, Activity Types and Activity Categories – If you need a quick guide on which CWS File Types, go with what Activity Type and what Activity category, this is the link you need. Strongly recommend bookmarking this KBA.
CWS Monitoring Schedule Process – The CWS Monitoring Schedule Process KBA got some updated links, helping to content from other KBAS.
CWS Violation Notice File Upload Process – This KBA was released in August,and recently had new links and updated language added to it.
Resolving Incorrect File/Activity Type issues - When users submit the wrong file, or under the incorrect activity type, this KBA is a great guide for the steps to take to correct those issues. It has been updated with new language.

CWS External User Training

February MiEHDWIS Refresher
Date & Time: February 13th at 10am
Location/Platform: Virtual meeting - Email to come
Details: This is the first of 4 MiEHDWIS Refresher courses that will be offered in 2025. This training is for all new DWEHD staff that interact with MiEHDWIS. This training is also appropriate for employees who feel less comfortable using the software. We will be covering the following topics:
Navigating MiEHDWIS basic
How to use the search features
Setting up custom dashboard
Where and how to get MiEHDWIS help
Be sure to mark your calendars for these trainings and promote them to your teammates and any external CWS users.

Important Reminders
How to submit a “Request a Change” Ticket?: If there is something that you think would improve your daily use of MiEHDWIS then consider submitting a “Request a Change” ticket. Once a Request a change Ticket comes in, it is reviewed by the Gov Board liaisons. Some small changes do not require Gov Board approval, while other will need to be reviewed to for scope of impact.
What is the process for requesting new training materials?: If you notice that a training material is missing, A KBA needs to be updated or you would like to request a team or small group training session, please feel free to submit “Request Training Materials” ticket with the Internal Help Desk.
Please let us know what you need, your name, when you need it by, the type of materials needed, the audience for the materials and a description of what is needed.
Someone will reach out to your shortly after you’ve submitted your ticket.Who are the SMEs? - This KBA is a refresher list of who is currently an SME (subject matter Expert).
