The MiEHDWIS Team is excited to deliver the 16th major release of MiEHDWIS on Thursday, October 24, 2024. This release includes an onboarding of a new program area Water Hauler. Beyond a continued focus to address usability, responsiveness, and bugs, this new release boasts some impressive functionality pertaining to the following:
Introduction of a new program area Water Hauler. Including the ability to conduct License and Inspection activities all pertaining to Trucks, Trailers, and Containers that haul water throughout Michigan.
Additional widgets and functionality for the LHD Dashboard. This includes the ability to view and generate reports, assign work on open inspections, as well as maintain the office contacts and users associated with that office.
External users will now have access to view and download their invoices from a new dashboard widget or from their external activities.
Users will now have the ability to search for entities using new mapping functionality as well as use the map functionality to add locations onto activities.
Keywords have now been added to assist with associating files together with the same tags.
Notifications via Text Message make their return as our integration with Artisan comes into MiEHDWIS. Users with Text Message set as their notification preference will start to receive text messages as soon as production is up and running.

Main Functionality
GIS Map Functionality
Now, SmartyStreets has been in the system for a release. Let’s make some use of that functionality. Users within each program area will now have the ability to search for their entities using our ArcGIS map. We have also implemented our mapping functionality on Locations which have been added to every activity type in MiEHDWIS. Users can now mark where things were conducted on the activity right from the map on the locations tab.
Customer Portal Enhancements
External users will have access to a new widget on their dashboard as well as a new card on activities where applicable. The Invoice Widget and Fees Card has now been implemented into MiEHDWIS. Users will be able to open invoices that are associated with activities the user is tied to. Payment of these invoices will be coming to a release in 2025.
LHD Dashboard
This release contains some additional dashboard widgets and tools for the LHD user. The LHD user will have access to maintain their LHD offices with the ability to link users to the correct contacts as well as have the ability to generate reports that can assist them in their work. Another addition to the LHD dashboard is the ability to assign an inspector to open inspection activities. This will allow the LHD user to show assignment of an activity so multiple users are not working on the same inspection at the same time.
Look and Feel (Responsiveness)
This release continued the work of making Eddy more responsive on smaller devices and with differing screen resolutions.
Water Hauler
One of the largest bodies of work in the release, Water Hauler has been onboarded into MiEHDWIS. Users will be able to conduct License and Inspection activities for haulers and their trucks, trailers, and containers that was previously maintained in Access.
Text Message Notification
Notifications via Text Message make their return as our integration with Artisan comes into MiEHDWIS. Users with Text Message set as their notification preference will start to receive text messages as soon as production is up and running.
