Submitting a Campground Construction Permit Application

Before completing a Campground construction permit, please review the Legislation Governing Campground.

Please review the campground definitions for information on buildings, site types and utilities

  1. Create a new activity. This can be accomplished in one of two ways.

    1. Using the Activity Menu on the user Dashboard.

    2. Selecting Create Activity in the left-hand menu.

  2. Select the Campground entity type.

  3. Select Campground Construction Permit as your activity type.

  4. Locate your Entity.

    1. For modifications, select the establishment from the Your Campground Entities list.

    2. If you are a construction contractor or an engineer submitting on behalf of the campground, and the campground doesn’t appear on your entities, you may need to search Full Set of Campground entities.

    3. For a new Campground Construction Permit, select Create a new Campground.

      1. See Create Entity for more information.

  5. Select +Create.

  6. This will take you to your Activity Overview page. On this page, your activity will be assigned a unique ID number (ACT-xxxxxx).

  7. Please review the guidance at the top of the page.

  8. When ready, select Start Form, located under Tasks.

  9. This will open the construction permit application inside MiEHDWIS.

  10. While completing the form, please be sure to:

    1. Confirm business information, and mark incorrect if needed.

    2. Provide accurate billing information.

    3. Select the type of construction project.

    4. Give a project description.

  11. If you are creating a new campground, select Initial - for Brand New Campground as the Construction type.

    1. Confirm that you have entered new owner information.

    2. Complete all the applicable fields for:

      1. Proposed Sites and Buildings

      2. Proposed Site Utilities

      3. Fixtures

      4. Privies

      5. New Well Construction

      6. Wastewater System Construction.

  12. If you are modifying an existing campground, select Modified - for an existing Campground as the Construction type.

    1. Complete all the applicable fields for:

      1. Proposed sites

        1. Select the site type you are modifying and provide the number of sites you are adding, replacing (which includes an additional and removal) or removing.

      2. Buildings

        1. Select the building type you are modifying and provide the number of buildings you are adding, replacing (which includes an additional and removal) or removing.

      3. Proposed site utilities

        1. Select the utility type you are modifying and provide the number of that type of utility you are adding, replacing (which includes an additional and removal) or removing.

      4. Proposed fixtures for male, female, and all-gender fixtures.

        1. Select the fixture type for each gender category you are modifying and provide the number of that type of fixture you are adding, replacing (which includes an additional and removal) or removing.

      5. New well construction.

      6. Wastewater system construction.

  13. If you need to come back to complete your form, select Save Draft.

  14. If you have completed your application, select Complete.

  15. After completing the form, if you need to review the form, select the Edit Form button.

  16. Review the updated Guidance at the top of the page.

  17. Navigate to Customer Attachments and select Upload Attachments to attach the Construction Plans and any other needed documents.

  18. When the needed documents are attached, mark the Upload Construction Plans task as complete, located under Tasks.

  19. When you are ready, select Proceed to Payment.

  20. The page will refresh, and the Fees card will appear.

  21. It may take a few minutes for the system to process; please be patient during this process.

  22. After the process has run, select the Invoice button if you would like to download your invoice.

  23. When ready to make your payment, select the green Pay button.

  24. This will navigate you to the EGLE PayPlace portal. This is a secure method of making online credit card payments to the state.

  25. Complete your payment process.

  26. Once you have completed your payment within EGLE’s PayPlace, you will be directed back to your Activity Page (ACT-XXXXXX).

  27. When you are ready, select Submit to EGLE.

    1. If you forget to submit to EGLE, the system will update within 48 hours and transition the activity for you.

  28. Your application and payment have been submitted to EGLE. It will be reviewed by EGLE staff.

  29. If you need to communicate with EGLE, please use the Messages card. This will become active after you have submitted to EGLE.
