What is the process for requesting new training materials?
Training Request
Staff member indicates a need for a knowledge base article and submits a request (Request Training/Materials) through the MiEHDWIS Help Desk.
This request includes information about the type of request (video, article, etc.), the audience for the materials (internal, external, LHD, etc.), as well as a place for a description, and a place to attach any draft documentation that the requestor may already have.
MiEHDWIS Help Desk staff reviews the request and determines if documentation already exists.
If documentation already exists, help desk staff will comment on the request with the link to the documentation in Confluence.
If documentation does not exist, help desk staff will reach out to the requestor if additional information is needed.
If additional information is needed from the requestor, help desk staff will @mention the requestor in a comment asking for more information. It is the requestor’s responsibility to monitor their email inbox for those mentions and respond. If a response is not provided, the help desk staff will move onto the next request in line.
Creation of Materials
Once the help desk staff have all the information needed, a Confluence article is drafted that details step-by-step instructions.
If requested (and deemed necessary/possible), a tutorial video is also created.
The requestor is notified in the help desk ticket that the materials have been created, along with the link to the Confluence article.
Viewing and Finding Materials
Staff can find all MiEHDWIS guidance material on the Internal MiEHDWIS Support Confluence.
External guidance material can be found linked on Michigan.gov/MiEHDWIS or directly on the External MiEHDWIS Support Confluence.
Both internal and external Confluence spaces have a list of articles on the left-hand side bar, as well as search bars at the top that users can type in key words and find appropriate articles and videos.
