Do I need a certifier role? If you will be certifying documents on behalf of the water supply(ies) you oversee, you will need to request a certifier role for each supply

**Please note that you do NOT need certifier status to prepare/upload documents – only to certify (“approve”) submitted documents and transition them to EGLE for review/processing. However, there needs to be one certifier role assigned for each supply.

Before requesting a Certifier agreement, you must have already requested access to MiEHDWIS through MiLogin for Business and have been approved by a MiEHDWIS System Administrator.

  1. Click Create Work Item.

  2. Choose the Entity Type of Community Water Supply.

  3. Choose the Request Category of User Role Request.

  4. Choose the Request Type of Certifier Request.

  5. Then, fill in the Entity (water supply) for which you are requesting to be a Certifier.

  6. Click Create.

  7. At this time, the DWEHD District Engineer will verify the requestor’s relationship to the water supply.

  8. Once verified by the Engineer, the Certifier will receive an email notification from the State of Michigan asking for electronic signatures using OneSpan. Please click and follow the prompts, which will lead you through the document signing process. Once the Certifier has completed signing, an email notification will go to the Administrative Contact who will then follow the same process to sign.

  9. Upon receiving the signed version back from OneSpan, DWEHD staff will update the Certifier Request Activity, upload the signed Certifier Agreement to the Activity, and assign the Certifier as a Contributor on the Entity (water supply).

  10. OneSpan automatically sends the Certifier Agreement back to EGLE. DO NOT print off and send a copy back to EGLE. We cannot accept scanned copies.
