MiEHDWIS PERMISSIONS CONTROL

Roles are permissions.

Groups are sets of roles that are assigned to users.

Workgroups are used to set up Coverage. Workgroups are really part of User Administration (need a page link). For information about Workgroups see Entity Administration.

Summary

At press time (8/4/26) there are 153 Roles to choose from in MiEHDWIS.
Roles can be program area-specific permissions, such as SWIMMING_POOL_ACTIVITY_DELETE (the ability to delete activities in the Swimming Pool area of MiEHDWIS), SWIMMING_POOL_ENTITY_EDIT (the ability to edit Swimming Pool entity information), and other function-based items such as WORKFLOW_EDIT or FEE_CREATE.

Roles are assigned to Groups to create a person’s job-specific cluster of permissions (all the types of access a Program Administrator might require, say), and then Groups in turn are assigned to individual Users, conferring on them all the permissions contained in the Groups they have.
