An SME is an individual with a deep understanding of a job. This can include knowing the processes, technology, and other job functions.
As a Subject Matter Expert, the primary role is to lend your business expertise by doing the following:
Represent your program area needs and provide expertise.
Provide feedback to KL&A and the project team.
Answer and ask questions related to your program area.
Bring information about MiEHDWIS back to your unit or section.
Consider process improvements, communicate current pain points, and support Agile principles.
Provide decisions for your program area. Collaborate with others.
Perform user acceptance testing and report bugs in Jira.
Provide input on the creating of training materials for SOPs.
Serve as the ‘go-to’ for your peers pre- and post-implementation.
