On January 25, 2024, MiEHDWIS Release 14 launched and with it came new functionality to make the system compliant with the Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) Cross-Media Electronic Reporting Rule (CROMERR) requirements. Below you’ll find answers to commonly asked questions. Certifiers will now be able to electronically sign and certify their electronic document submissions using a session-based Personal Identification Number (PIN), similar to other multifactor authentication technologies we use when logging into our bank accounts or when completing taxes. After uploading documents and before final submission to EGLE, you Certifiers will be prompted to check a box, acknowledging that the information being submitted is true and accurate, and you’ll they’ll need to enter a PIN before you they can select the final “Submit to EGLE” button. Upon submission, a Copy of Record (CoR) is created. A CoR is a snapshot of the documentation sent to EGLE, which includes copies of the original submitted files and a cover sheet containing transaction history associated with the submission (i.e. account information, date and time stamps, confirmation of PIN usage and checkbox verification). |

While the activity is in the pre-submitted state (prior to submission to EGLE), there is a button for external contributors to withdraw the activity. Once an activity passes the submit to EGLE step, the ability to withdraw the activity using the button is generally no longer available. In some cases, the withdraw button is available while the activity is “Waiting on Applicant”. If an external user wishes to withdraw the activity after submission to EGLE, they should request that EGLE withdraw it on their behalf. There is an option to close or reject the activity (by EGLE) on many workflows and selecting the end resolution of "Withdrawn by Applicant" should be used. |
